Arrival

By bus, train, car, boing or flying carpet. Many roads lead to the Oberraindlhof.

Always head towards the sun. Or towards the far north. Let me know where you’re coming from and I’ll tell you the quickest way to get to the South Tyrolean Val Senales.

Nice to meet you. I’m Oberraindlhof! An old mountain farm by trade. I’ve been standing here since 1591. Today, I stand tall as your new favourite hotel, featuring historic rooms and abundant charm. If you don’t know me yet, you’re likely wondering: Where exactly is the Oberraindlhof and how do I get there? I’ll tell you! My home is nestled in the hamlet of Raindl in Val Senales, a side valley of the Val Venosta. This is in the north-west of the autonomous province of South Tyrol in Italy.

By car to Val Senales

Take the A22 motorway towards Bolzano, leave via the Bolzano Sud/Bozen Süd exit. Then take the SS38 towards Merano via Lagundo, Rablà to Naturno. After the long tunnel in Naturno, follow the signs towards Val Senales. Alternatively, you can take the route over the Passo di Resia (note when it’s closed for winter and weather conditions!). In this case, you should drive via Malles, Silandro and Castelbello. For navigation assistance, enter the address: Italy, 39020 Senales, Raindl 49 into your GPS device.

A word about snow chains, etc.

Due to its mountainous location, South Tyrol requires all vehicles to be fitted with winter equipment 365 days a year. This means that in snowy or slushy conditions, you must use winter tyres or snow chains. The roads are generally well maintained and cleared of snow, but heavy snowfall can lead to snow-covered, icy or slippery roads. The safest option is to take snow chains with you, but make sure you practise fitting them at home first.

By train to Val Senales

My hotel staff and I are always delighted when you choose to travel by train for an environmentally friendly trip. International long-distance trains arrive at Merano station. From there, board the Ferrovia Val Venosta train and get off again in Naturno. As a small token of our appreciation for your eco-conscious choice, we’ll pick you up from the Naturno station free of charge. Just let us know what time you’ll be arriving when you book. If needed, we can arrange transfers from Merano or Bolzano train stations for a fee upon request.
