Good to know

From directions to transactions. Here’s our little holiday compendium.

A well-prepared trip is essential for a fantastic experience. That’s why my team suggests checking out this page.

FAQ – ‘frequently asked questions’ is the modern term, but I still prefer to call it ‘Good to Know’. This valuable information often holds the answers to common queries. By familiarising yourself with it, you can book your stay with confidence and embark on your journey to the beautiful Val Senales worry-free.

How to find us: What’s the quickest way to get to the Oberraindlhof?

This page has packed with useful information for travelling to the Val Senales.

Arrival and departure: When can we check into our rooms?

Your room will be ready for you from 2 pm on the day of arrival. Please vacate your room by 10 am on the day of your departure.

Booking: Where can we find the best price to book our holiday in South Tyrol?

We’d love for you to book directly through our website. You’ll find our latest offers and packages there, including direct access to our last-minute deals. If you’ve already set your travel dates, consider our early bird discount: receive a €25 discount for bookings made up to 3 months in advance (for stays of 7 nights in a double room).

E-charging station: Can we charge our electric car at Oberraindlhof?

Yes, there is a charging station for electric cars here at Oberraindlhof. If you plan to use it, please let us know in good time.

Pets: Are dogs allowed at the Oberraindlhof?

We welcome four-legged guests! There’s a charge of €20 per dog per night (excluding food). To ensure everyone’s comfort and to prevent your dog from getting bored during alpine wellness sessions or endless wine discussions, please note that the sauna area and dining areas are reserved for humans. The forest begins right behind our hotel. Please respect the wildlife, make use of the doggy poop bag dispensers and enjoy your walks exploring the mountainous landscape of Senales together.

Inclusive services: What’s already included in the room rate?

Breakfast, afternoon snack, gourmet dinner, entry to the swimming pool, guest card and much, much more! Click here for a list of all-inclusive services at the Oberraindlhof.

Tourist tax

The tax you pay makes a valuable contribution to the region. We charge €3.50 per person (from 14 years of age) and day on your departure.

Child discounts: What discounts are there for families?

Our hotel primarily caters to adult guests so please note that we do not offer special services for children. However, families are more than welcome and we provide the following discounts for two or more full-paying guests sharing a room:

0 - 3 years – €20.00 per child

4 - 6 years - 70% discount

7 - 12 years - 50% discount

13 - 17 years - 40% discount

From 18 years - 30% discount

Travel cancellation: Should we take out insurance?

Yes! This will save you and the Oberraindlhof staff a lot of headaches and worry. Click here for the Europäische Reiseversicherung. It doesn’t cost much but can make a real difference if the worst comes to the worst.

Shuttle service: Can we get there by train or plane?

Of course! As a small token of appreciation for your environmentally friendly arrival by train, we offer a complimentary pick-up service from Naturno train station. Please let us know your arrival times in good time. On request, we can organise a transfer for you from Merano or Bolzano train stations and Verona and Innsbruck airports. Please get in touch for a free quote.

Cancellation policy: What are your cancellation conditions?

Cancellations are free up to 30 days before arrival. For cancellations made 29 to 15 days before arrival, we keep your deposit as a processing fee.  For cancellations made from 14 to 7 days before arrival, we charge 80% of the total amount as a cancellation fee. For cancellations from 7 days before arrival, late arrival, or early departure, we charge the full room rate. We highly recommend taking out a travel cancellation insurance.

Winter: Do we need snow chains in South Tyrol?

It is mandatory for all vehicles in South Tyrol to be equipped for winter 365 days a year. In snow or slush, you may only drive with winter tyres or snow chains. Even though the roads are usually cleared, having snow chains stowed in your luggage ensures you’re on the safe side. Tip: Practise putting on your snow chains before you start your journey.

Payment: How can I pay my bill?

You can pay your hotel bill in cash, by bank transfer in advance or by debit or credit card.

Rooms: What do we need to know about the historic rooms?

Read all about our historic farmhouse rooms here. Because the old wood is ‘alive’ and the historic rooms are a little sensitive to noise, we recommend that very light sleepers enjoy the contemporary four-star comfort of the new building. We will do our best to fulfil your room request. Please appreciate we are not always able to do this and therefore cannot guarantee specific rooms. During peak season, there may be a minimum stay requirement or fixed arrival or departure days. All rooms are non-smoking areas.
