The Raffeiner Family

My farm folk are seasoned hosts. Generation after generation following generation. Come and meet the Raffeiners!

While one is an expert in wine,  the other is well-versed in mountain natur. And when it comes to celebrating he boss personally makes sure guests are fully entertained and happy.

If I could bake myself a host family, then nothing else would appear but the Raffeiners.

They say you’re drawn to what you know, and I’ve known the Raffeiners for a considerable amount of time now. However, I must say that they are a wonderful fit for me. Maybe it’s like the chicken and the egg theory – after all, I was here first. Or did my identity come from the Raffeiner family? It’s likely both scenarios are true. I can guarantee you that, even in the picturesque region of South Tyrol, hosts such as Elisabeth and Helmut, along with their son Benjamin and his spouse Andrea, are extremely hard to find.

Happiness is supposed to be shared. This is a conclusion that the Raffeiners have always known.

Certainly, they’ve grown into their roles, carrying on the traditions of their forebears and accepting the accountability that accompanies running a historic house such as mine. But there’s also an inexhaustible and natural desire to welcome people into their own home. Helmuth, Elisabeth, Benjamin and Andrea are acutely aware of the necessity for sharing a unique piece of land they are lucky enough to own with others. Because sharing happiness with others causes it to multiply. And there’s one other thing the Raffeiners excel at: being present. Whether it’s early or late, in passing or over a leisurely glass of wine, they never fail to find time for a chat with their guests.

The Raffeiner Family

Junior manager Benjamin is a passionate hunter and nature lover. Sommelier and office manager too. And if that weren’t enough, he also looks after the Teufefelsegg hut and the Platzlbar.

Consummate musician Elisabeth is the senior manager at the Oberraindlhof. She is the first point of contact for every guest and takes care of your breakfast every morning. Just wait until you hear her sing!

Junior manager Andrea has a flair for everything beautiful and blooming here on the farm. She also takes care of marketing and keeps the laundry spotless. And let’s not forget about little Anton, who’s the spitting image of his great-great-grandfather.

Rarely does a farm stand alone. Alpine parties and space for free spirits.

You won’t need to work for the rest of your life if you are passionate about what you do. That’s what they say. And it’s true. There’s still time and room for more because the Raffeiners enjoy themselves so much with me. And even if nothing quite compares to my legendary  Sunday roast! Great culinary fare is also served at the Teufelsegg hut. At 2,444 metres, it is located directly on the slopes of the Val Senales ski resort. Savour delectable cuisine and a traditional Alpine celebration with music from December to April. If you like to party, you have to pay a visit to the Raffeiners in the Platzl Bar. Of course, visitors to the Oberraindlhof are welcomed with a complimentary schnapps.
