Not everything has been finalized yet, but I don't want to withhold from you what the sparrows are already whistling from the rooftops and what is eliciting a broad grin from my farmhands. This much can be revealed: 2025 will be a big year here in the Schnalstal Valley. There will be celebrations. And it's going to be sporty, sacred, high-proof and, of course, beastly. Although some clocks up here tick a little slower from time to time, the Schnalstal Valley and its inhabitants are anything but yesterday's news. On the contrary! As foodies, nature-loving sports enthusiasts and forward-thinkers with a strong sense of tradition, they have come up with some great ideas for the 2025 celebrations. Here's what you can already look forward to:
The Glacier Cable Car is 50 years young
The maiden voyage of the Schnalstal Glacier Cable Car took place on 12.07.1975. Honestly? I feel like it was just yesterday. Premiere for the Schnalstal Alpine Trail Run 19991
Nineteen under nineteen ninety-one. Of course you know what happened on this date: Exactly! Ötzi was found here in the Schnalstal Valley. As a tribute to the legendary man in the ice, a few “dammische” have created a crazy trail running event. Yes, there are people who run up mountains just for the fun of it. At breakneck speed! Allerengelsberg celebrates 700 years.
The foundation stone of the Karthäuserkloster Allerengelsberg monastery in Karthaus was laid in 1326. This is duly celebrated. With music, dancing and performances. 10 years of transhumance specialty weeks
The legendary lamb weeks in the Oberrraindhof restaurant are back in 2025 and can now look back on a decade of living a culture of indulgence. The Slow Food Weeks take place in September.
